Advantages
It is commonly cultivated as an oranamental palm in gardens and along roadsides for its attravtive leaves.

It is also called as "Fan Palm" because of the shape of leaves which resemble like a handfan, and it is traditionally used in China as a handfan, from where it originated.
Description
- The leaves are palmately compound and individual portions that arise from a single common point are known as Segments.
